CARBON DOSING VS ATS

How much different, is carbon dosing from algae scrubbers. Just wondering. I'm trying to have an ATS on my AIO, but it doesn't seem practical at the moment.

I looked it up on here and google, but didn't come up with much. are they too different to compare?

I would like to hear both parts of the story. (I wonder if there's a carbon dosing forum)

Carbon does not:

Remove metals
Increase pH
Increase oxygen
Work without a skimmer
Grow pods
Provide reverse photo-period pH stabilization

do you think carbon dosing would be detrimental to an ATS, at least to help get NO3 in check, and can they work together?

Carbon dosing has shown to reduce scrubber growth.
