Hi after seeking ways of improving my filtration on mine and my gf's saltwater tanks I came across this great site and after many hours of reading I have been taken in by it. So I started looking into different designs and found one that I think will best suit our tanks and which I like the look of.
Found a video on utube labeled simonSLK's design
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_P0ZITI0h6o
This is the design I would like to imitate/copy so If anyone could point me in the right direction or if I could get more info on this design including measurement DIY notes/pics/videos etc I would be very grateful.
Thanks in advance Daniel

You'll probably have to search other forums for him.

So after some searching I've found some good pics of the design so I'll post them up just invade anyone else has checked that video on youtube out and like the design and would want to implement it into use.

Yes it's nice because you don't have to turn the water off to remove the screen. However I wonder if the top pipe will grow much algae in the holes and clog, and if it's very noisy as it drops down to the second pipe.

Also I'm sure that he modified his device after the front cover warped. It looks like he made it out of 3/8" possibly, which would reduce warping quite a bit, but if it was 1/4" watch out, that removable cover will warp like nuts, and so will the fixed back side. I would add a horizontal cross brace along the top and bottom edge of each long side.
