Hello!
A little difficult to explain this in words, and especially in English:)

Will a vertical overflow edge in a sump could provide enough flow to an algae screen, or do a algae screen require as much flow so that water will only splash of overflow edge instead of flowing smoothly?

I'm thinking in words that an algae screen placed vertically at overflow edge in a sump under the aquarium

I have overflow feed for my scrubber. Ball valves on both sides from separate overflows and a massive return pump

Hello!

Thanks for the answer, but you've probably misunderstood my bad English

Hello!

This is exactly what I mean.

Was wondering if the flow requirement for algae scrubbers would cause too much water passes the edge so that it will be sound and splash and not a smooth flow to the scrubber.

No. Mine is exactly that and it's fine & very quiet

The only thing I had to do was to slightly file down the edge of the black plastic strip that hold the screen to make it rounded, otherwise some of the water creates a little peak which pushes it off of the front of the top part of the screen once you get passed a certain level of flow.
