You need proper flow, proper light, and the proper size screen for your tank. What is your set-up and how long you been up and running? Any Pics??

How long has it been set-up? I have my lights about 2.5-3" away from my screen they are the 23W CFL spiral type. I have three of these Scrubbers on SW tanks and it took a while before I started getting any type of green. I am still working on getting the really green algae. I just make improvements as I can and its getting better all the time. I just added four 660nm 3 watt LED's to my 10G nano I have high hopes for this as it seems to be getting a better green growth, a few more days and we will know for sure. You are at 10PPM nitrate so its working!! Have fun and experiment, you will get it. I am sure the experts on here will have some valuable info as well.

Been setup for about 2 months now. The growths are getting thicker. But not greener.

I added iron to my tank as SM suggested and its a bit greener now but not that bright green as SM posts in his pics. Either way its working and my nitrates are super LOW now. I suspect mine is still the brown/green-ish due to lack of light and flow.

I upgraded my ATS this week.

I added 2 more F24T5 Sylvania bulbs and I changed ATS pump from 45 watt pump to 65w Eheim 1260. I also changed sump pump from Eheim 1260 to Mag 18 which pushes limits of an Oceanic "Reef Ready" 140. Tank turnover went from 4X to 8-9X. Screen is 14WX22T that is now lit 4 F24T5 on one side and 2 on other instead of one side. I expect to have green algae this week. Mag 18 will heat tank as well into fall.

I had lingering cyano so I added more flow to everything.

Also I dropped screen one hole down. It doesn't sound like much but it reduced spray a lot. I will also finally put EuroReef CS8-2 on ebay.

Thats great!! I did a little updating to my scrubber today as well. I had lights on the outside shinning through the acrylic with big cone shaped reflectors. Now I have them in the scrubber tank with home made reflectors which puts them closer to the screen. I modified the slots and added more so I do not get much spray and splash as had before. The flow down the screen is better as well.

I'm getting green hair algae tufts on edge of spray bar already and on a few spots. The screen is usual brown except where it is lit front and back in middle. I'll post a picture end of week.

Here is a pic from Tuesday night. The screen was cleaned Sunday afternoon. I have a hard time getting green growth as well. It more green around the edges then the middle even with the light closer and the flow improved a bit. I even dose a little iron too.

Screen got much greener this week, only where screen was lit from back and front. I cut light back to 12 hrs/day next week.

I still have some lingering brown algae on top of sand. Hard to get camera phone to get green over a yellow intense light.

My nitrates are 0, from the test kit reads
Phosphates are probably low.
Starting to see sponges grow on rocks i think.

But yeah still not getting green growth =/
As long as there's zero readings right?
