View Full Version : My ats led
I put 11 leds a 750mA
660nm per side, in a net 28 "x 8", you think
with this is enough to have a strong algae, my current tankd its 450G

I bet you'll need more, but you should be able to see the growth pattern on your screen and figure out what you really need from that. There should be enough light right in front of your strip, the question is how far above and below will you get growth.

You should looka at Aces build for reference.
Thanks Morganatlanta,
Right now i have no groth because a dont have fish, few coconut worms, clearly my parameters are almost at 0 and only a pinch food flakes daily
I have to wait to have fish to see growth, but i probably need more led
Thanks kotlec i saw that already, but my screen its mor longer

I think a second strip the same size would really help you out. I know it cost a lot of $ for a second strip when dealing with one as big as yours, but it is a one time cost and I do think it would double your ATS growth. Let it go "as is" for a month or so just to get the screen established, then you can really see where you are lacking in spots and where you need to add more. Also make sure to check the temperature on the heatsink.. it can get really hot (too hot) without a fan to cool it in certain situations.. not sure about yours, so just keep an eye on it.
Ace25 Thank you very much for your answer, I'll wait for some fish to correctly determine the growth of algae as you say, depending on that as they add more LEDs as you say, the cost is important, but I think my tank stability worth it
Now I can touch the heatsink without any problem only becomes warm, so I think I'm on the right way
Greetings and thank you very much indeed for your answer
PD: sorry for my bad english

that looks great!!!
My led lights (660nm) are not producing green like that at all!
I have dovned the led a bit but it lokks like I have to buy a more powerfull pumpe instead!
Hox many litres or galons do your pumpe deliver?
Anders greetings
I take direct wáter line of the overflow, but base on the calculations i provide Santa Monica in due course, should provide 600 to 700gph

I think I'm going to make some changes similar to yours, great work.
Thanks Floyd, look i trusted you and all who have shared referring to the leds in this fórum and here are the real results, without the 660 is definitely a very good choice for a ats
Danilo thanks, my current setup is as follows, osram led 660nm 12 (6 per side) adjusted to 750ma, my screen is 10”x 8” these are separated by a distance of 2.5” and the flow is from 600 to 700 gph

Floy R Turbo regrads,
Was just to update, due to the reduction of parameters, now my net grows quite thin, on the other hand not increased my biological load, so I assume that growth is normal
here a photo of 9 days left of the net growth

That is what I expected. With the new screen sizing guidelines based on feeding, you're only going to grow algae in proportion to the amount that you feed.
What I find most interesting is that even though your growth is not that heavy, it is [i]still all green[/]. You have a great deal of long strands of GHA on that screen. This further proves the usefulness of LED.
I looked back at the pics, did you originally have a much larger screen? Like 28" long? Now it's 10x8? Did you re-configure the LEDs or are they still as you show in the first post?
If you don't mind, take a look at this thread I started and post your info

Could probably grow another week; looks good so far.
I'm really happy with the LEDs
Floyd R Turbo regards, If reconfigure the position of the net and the LEDs based on the information provided by ace25 and you, so really I got the
desired results
I will check the link
Thanks Santa Monica, if I'm leaving right now to grow each
net 14 days with 7 days apart to clean not to stay
without algae
