Hello,
My scrubbed tank has been running for 3 months. scrubber on for 3-4 weeks.
im starting to see green algae finally.
my nitrates are not detectable for the last few weeks (double checked with friends test kit), but still seeing cyano in the sump. My corals and fish have been doing great, until recently.
tank is 29 gallon with 10 g sump, 2 x 23 watt (6500k) lights on scrubber 10 inch wide grid, 650gph return, 350gph@ 4ft of head. DIY LED for DT, 24 x 3w cree xp-e/xp-g 12 cw/12rb, 60degree optics. 14" from water surface.
no algae in dt
I have
maxima clam
purple montipora plate
stylophora
staghorn
galaxia
frogspawn
hammer
welso brain
zoanthinds
metallic mushrooms
2 mocha occ clowns
1 sixline wrasse
1 starry blenny
1 hectors goby
1 cleaner shrimp
1 peppermint shrimp
astrae snails
lettuce nudibranch
I have been feeding heavy to get the algae growing well.
Lately alot of the zoathids are closed, the mushrooms dont look great, and the galaxia /polyps aren't very open.
the clams looks great, the sps look good, welso, frog, hammer and all look good.
fish all look good.
I dont have a phosphate test kit as i understand they are pretty much useless. but it would make sense that i have phosphate because of the cyano in the sump and ive been feeding ALOT. however, shouldnt the scrubber be taking the phosphate up?
should i go get some phosban, gfo, or something of the like to see if this brings them around?
