I've finished (hopefully) the primary assembly of my sump return and the scrubber set up for my 72 bowfront. The scrubber is powered by a mag7 and the sump return is a mag9.5. the return goes up ~55" through 2 ninety degree elbows, will the 9.5 be powerful enough for that much head :D ? I've also got the return piping crammed in there pretty tight. If i ever have to clean or replace the pump i'm going to have to cut and redo some pvc. Is there a better way? I dont want to elevate the pump off the bottom of the sump as i dont want to have too much water in there as it is. Hopefully the pic works, i'm still figuring out my iphone.

You can put unions (coupler with an o0ring seal) that un-thread so you do not have to cut the pipe.

Until yesterday i didnt know what a union was when related to plumbing. Now that i know, i wont be destroying any pipe. Thanks for the tip!

Thats what my hardware store had it as. Once i saw that it made sense. Got a big shipment of supplies in today, still need to get a light and an ro/di unit and i'llbe testing for leaks.

I got a real good deal on ebay for a RO/DI set up. I bought it from this guy. No complaints at all so far. http://stores.ebay.com/filterdirectstore
