I know xenia doesnt seem to grow when an ats is running. Anything else out there you can't have because of an ATS the reason for asking was i was looking at getting some sea squirts which are very hard to keep. was wondering if anybody had any success with them?

I just got a sea squirt a few months ago and it's doing great down at the bottom of the tank. The only reason they are "hard to keep" by most people is because most people don't have enough food particles in the water.

Mine was doing very well when tank was new. But as tank matured, xenia stopped growing. Now it looks good , just dont grows much anymore. But neither does my green muchroms. So may be there is other reason but scrubebr.

The tank they are in has been up for more then a year and the other tank has a frag of the same xenia and its been up since last Fathers Day and had a scrubber from day ONE and grows xenia good too. My watermelon mushroom has not split but its getting bigger and has constant growth.

My xenia are growing like crazy. I have to keep them trimmed back so they don't over grow other corals... I can post a picture after I find my camera. The wife put it away....... we all know what that means.

My 10G is all LED, display(7@12,000k) and scrubber. My 40G just went to LED in the scrubber last weekend and the front half of the display has 14 LEDs (12@12,000k, 2@435nm) and the back half or really 1/3 is a t-8 18,000K.

SM originally told me that Xenia probably wouldn't make it as N and P dropped out. In over a year of running a T5HO scrubber I can verify this is definitely not the case. They grow like wildfire. I try the best I can anymore to keep them at bay but they refuse to die. That and Anthelia / Waving hand grow uncontrollably for me.

I have had some difficulty keeping some LPS corals like Frogspawn and Branching Hammer. They tend to open up a little after cleaning the screen, then close up tightly toward the end of the cleaning period. Still trying to get a handle on this one. Also for some reason ORA Green Birdsnest took a beating (also due to a dino outbreak). Other SPS, like Red Cap, Green/orange Digitata, Tri-color Valida, just love it. Softies no problem, cabbage leather, toadstool mushroom, Colt, love it. Mushrooms love it. I have some fuzzy mushrooms that got 6" in diameter then in just one day they split in 4. One of the clowns hosts in them they're so dense.

My wife calls my Waving hand the CLAPPER!!! LOL, its pretty funny. Mine grows real good to. However I could not get a monti cap to grow, only tried once so maybe it was me. I just got a combo brain coral, pineapple on one side and Lobo on the other.

I think you mean the Pulsing Xenia...Anthelia/waving hand does nothing but sway in the current...

Yes, the pulsating, my bad. I do not have any waving hand.
