So i cleaned the slot the otherday but didnt touch the screen.. next day algae starts getting white.. so i clean the screen since it was time anyway leaving behind a bit on the screen. Yesterday whatever was on the screen died and algae started growing brown.. like a new screen.
Have anyone had this happen?.. its.turning green again... But why did it die?.. chqnge of flow?

That is very peculiar?? My guess would have been flow but, I cannot explain the white. I would have expected maybe brown but not white.

The one time my screen turned white is when something got stuck on the intake of the pump and cut off 95% of the flow. The light burned the algae and turned it white. Flow would have had to have gotten completely shut off for a period of time.

I had a 2 day power outage about a year ago that made my algae turn white and it let a bunch of toxics back into the tank. I would look at flow

My flow has never changed. Its comming from my overflow...im harvesting really nice bright green algae every 10 days.. hoever after every single cleaning whatever is left on the screen will trun brown, then the green will start showing up... I wonder why?.. every single time.

I don't think it's turning brown, I think it's growing diatoms or dino's. That's what screen do when they start. Then once gha can take root, the diatoms or dino's are replaced.

I'd say it's being covered by new brown growth of diatoms or dino's, since the white empty area of the screen turns brown too. If you were to dig under the brown, you would probably find green
