macro algae and scrubbers

so im interested in scrubbers but am concerned with running a scrubber that there wont be any nutrients for macro algaes? does any one run scrubbers and have macro algae? i have also heard of people dosing ammonia in there tanks to supply nutrients to there macros any thoughts on this?

Correct... you don't really want both. If you want to try, use less hours on the scrubber.
