I think it is out of Santa Monica's hands. He has to follow the rules for getting his patents in order. His hands are tied. He can't release anything yet. I am sure he is just as anxious to share as we are to hear about it.

Actually the patent stuff just finished; I now just have a few people doing some initial testing.

Things you will need to have to run the test on a 10 gal: Screen, and a 11 or 13 watt CFL spotlight or floodlight.

Good things come to those that wait!
I think that saying was made for our hobby. ;) I have learned a million different things since getting into this hobby a couple decades ago, but none were as important as learning "patience". :D
That said... is it May Day (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/May_Day) yet? LOL

@SM, I am a member of the LaReef forum and there is a growing interest there about my scrubber and another members that has a SM100 (thatgrimguy). There might be an opportunity there to post this new stuff coming in May. This is the link a member started: http://www.lareefclub.com/phpbb3.09/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=31326&sid=1745ec4e62071aa07662510fe0cf6edd#unread .

Here at tcmas.org has been gaining momentum as well. A number of people who have never run scrubbers before are anxious to see what the new design is about and seriously considering one.

Also needed: Some extra plastic canvas, or any mesh of any color, about 12 x 12 inches. Does not need to be roughed up.

I am covered there.. I bought 10 screens when I first got into scrubbers for a whopping $3.30 (33cents ea)... still have 3 new ones left after all these years. But 12x12 is a little hard since normal screens come in 10.5"x13.5" sizes.

@SM in your opinion will this new design be the way to go for a high bioload 300g+ tank setup vs. a boxed acrylic design?

If you are running the 300 now and need filtering now, I'd wait on this one. Use a proven design.
You should have the other parts you need.

One thing you probably have, but will need to get if you don't, is an airstone that is 3 or 4 inches long. An air bubble wand would work too. Of course an air pump too.

I think it would be amazing if, come May 1st, none of this stuff was needed. SantaMonica's just messing with us. Next he's going to let us know we need 15 feet of chicken wire and 5 bottles of vinegar.
