Wild growth. Is that a virgin screen?

SantaMonica

Yes. Was feeding 4 or 5 pinches a day.

No, a cheap 3" sand stone, and a cheap regular pump.

You should have seen how happy the goldfish was when he got inside the container.

Has there been any insight to the effects of the bubbles rising in freshwater vs saltwater.. I imagine there would be a difference due to water density...

No.

Why the spotlight vs regular cfl.

To get all the light onto the screen.

Its a small screen, reflectors dont fair as well on the small screen as the light spills off of the screen. The spotlight CFL gets more of the light onto the screen.

if you wanted to make it two sided.. just get a mirror and drop it in there?

SantaMonica

For the test, did you use only one light?

SantaMonica

Yes, the one bulb. On ones before this I did various setups, but no pics of them.

Doesnt all the air bubbles cause a scum on the water surface? (Like a skimmer)

SantaMonica

None that I saw, or see now.

None that I saw, or see now.

Mines slightly different as I have bucket loads of micro bubbles, but I get no scum either.

have you tried your other design? the one that is diagonal and in the corner of the sump. would you say corner one is more effective than the design you did in this thread even if a reflector was placed on the other side. wondering if it is worth getting the second bulb instead of using just one.

I've tried them all. The corner is better because it is 2-sided, and 2-sided is always better. However you can do 2-sided with one bulb if you use reflectors.

Link bust, then worked, now bust again - unless it's me. I like these types or designs where almost anyone can have a go at copying one.
