HI, i have a old aquaray unit it has 2 blue leds and 3 white . would this be any good for growing algea.

not very good.
you need mostly red with small blue.
White has some red and blue spectrum. But rest is wasted.

Thanks for reply, like you say the whites are probably no good they are 14k. I may try opening it up to see if i can replace the whites with reds. Should be a cheap fixture if i can manage to change it.
