I have a 4 cubes a day algae scrubber and it has one 23 cfl bulb on each side using big lowes reflectors and I'm getting lots of cyano on my screen every time I clean my scrubber it has green under it but within a day or two it gets full of cyano. The tank is been up and running for about a month and half and I only feed 3 cubes not 4 I have 13 fish and my tank is 150 gallons with a 40 breeder as a sump with an other 30 gallons of water.
Should I add higher wattage bulbs.

So I should use 40 or 60 w bulbs for 9 hours a day instead of 18. what's bulbs would you use.

I personally like the more light because you can always dial it back if it burns.
Are you sure it's cyano. I would have thought cyano would not take to a screen because of the high flow. Unless you have very low flow! Got any pics ?

pics please.
cyano is a complex nightmare of a bacterium. more info is needed to help.
I'm with garf on this one. not because of flow but I doubt it will grow on a screen. Not saying it isnt on yours, but that just doesnt sound right.

It most likely is. If its brown and not a deep deeeeep red. Its not cyano.
so a 4 cube is 48 sq inches. 24 watts per side for a two sided screen.
this is pretty close to what you have, however many people have noticed that higher wattage and less duration will really allow your scrubber to pull better export. give it a whirl with some 40+ bulbs and see how it goes. If its dark brown slimy stuff you just might have high nutrient levels. In which case you should clean it every 3 days or so until your nutrients come down. Either way its still filtering, all growth is good growth its just some is better than others.
play with it a bit. see what happens.
