Ok for you guys that have establish tanks with scrubbers Do you guys get a detritus build up in the sump and what you guys do to keep this from happening. Im thinking may add a skimmer on a timmer what you guys think

Best is to not have a sump, so all that food can get to your corals and small fish/CUC. Sumps don't do anything to help reef tank growth; they only make it more convenient to operate.
Second best is to have a clean-walled open sump with high flow so food will be carried back to the display.
Third best is just to let the sump grow into a cryptic zone. I did this.

They are just dark areas that grow non-photo stuff. They don't really help with filtering, but they can add food to the water.

Currently in building stage of my sump. I was thinking of building a low wall, 1" maybe 2" about center to let larger particles to settle before reaching pump. Then I would just vacuum them up. Or create a hermit habitat there.
I remember my last tank that build up would sort of solidify if left too long. I am seeing that now in my temporary set up. Snails and hermits are able to crawl over the top of it. Not through it.
