I am working on the design of a sump/scrubber on my 300+240g in wall tank build.

1.) I know I don't need a scrubber and fuge since the scrubber does the same thing. However, does the fuge provide essential "things" for the reef tank? I remember reading the big reason for a fuge is to allow certain food items to thrive in the fuge which will enter the reef and be consumed.

2.) I will use LED's for my setup. Do they need to be spaced every 4" or every 2"? LED's cover 2sq inches of space... that will give me 4" of cover from one LED. My old scrubber had a LED every 4" from the center of one to the other. Worked great but I could be wrong and should have needed more. If this does not make sense I can add a drawing.

3.) I had another question and can't remember it at this time :-)

Scrubbers and fuge's both grow pods. Fuge's grow bigger ones though.

Try one 3-watt lambertian LED every 4 inches, 1.5 inches from the glass.

Just what I was thinking.

I remember the other question.... If I use PVC to run the water to the top of the waterfall and add a 'Y' connection and split the water to sepearte screens... It should still equal 35gph per inch for both screens when using a large enough pump?

Is it better to go wider or narrorw screen when needing 400+sqinch of screen? Or does it not matter?

Each screen should have 35 gph per inch.

Wide or narrow should should be what fits your light the best.
