Hi folks, my first post for a while on here. Hope all are well & thriving.
Building a long narrow horizontal for a 55 gal' sumpless tank.
Considering these to light it.

Screen will be approx 44 inches long by 5.5 inches wide.
Thanks in advance.

White LED ?
Hello Rumpy Pumpy - wouldn't a couple of 36 inch tubes with a reflector give a more even spread ?

White LED ?
"Warmwhite (3200K-3500K)"
Not really "got into" LEDs but that's the sort of spectrum required isn't it?

That was my plan.
I like the idea of not having to change tubes every 3 months though.
Don't think the tubes have to be replaced every 3 months like cfl's, but can see where your coming from. For max efficiency you should be looking for 660nm red and perhaps 420 - 450nm blue, as these are the peaks in the photosynthetic absorption ratio.

Ah. Cheers.
Bit technical for me. Not sure I want to be messing about with individual LEDs, heat sinks and what have you.
Maybe I'll go with the tubes after all

Get some plant-grow LEDs.

Get some plant-grow LEDs.
Tks SM.
Had a look, they're quite expensive at the moment (in the UK anyway), so I'll prob start with the T5s and take it from there.
What did you go for in the end?
