Call me crazy but I can't dispose of my eshine units yet so I'm trying something different.
I have no sump so I'm re-using a phosphate/sand filter reactor for a submerged scrubber.
Given our love of the boundary layer I was wondering how to get bubbles rubbing the screen. My solution so far may not be optimal but the screen is larger than I need in the assumption I will only get growth on he middle part of it.
Its 6x4 inches, these lights always seemed too strong for my SM100 clone so I'm hoping that will work out well given the further placement away from the screen and the curved vessel.
If this doesn't work I will bite the bullet and order the HOG.5 :)

Screen is seeded, will start with 18h on 6h off.

Update time.
First clean was day 10 here is how it looked:
Before and the next day.

Next cleaning day 20

Any suggestions? I'm thinking perhaps the light is too strong and should reduce hours, what do you think?
There was some green hair growing inside the centre pipe which would be lower light intensity.

Cheers,
Nick.

Looks like it might not be getting bubble on the screen.

Ok I've tilted it so the middle section is definitely getting bubbles. I'll see how it goes for another 10 days, if the middle looks better I'll have to rethink it for the whole screen.
