A few months ago(6 or 7) I installed an scrubber to improve my water quality , i was running it along with my skimmer and chaeto refugium and think it`s performing well this are some pics from when i recently installed:

specs:
The scrubber it's lighted by a mini sipiral t3 bulb by phillps of 17 w and 4300k .
In a photoperiod of 8 hours and the pump its attached to a wave maker that left 1 minute of flow for 30 seconds without watter.

and now my questions:
do the flow looks right? , do the lighting seems enougth?, do you have an advice to improve the performance of my scrubber?

greetings and best regards from mexico city.

This is easy :)

Flow looks good. But...

1. Replace the bulb with a 2700K bulb. Your bulb is worn out after 3 months.
2. Add a reflector so the wasted half of light gets reflected back to the screen.
3. Move the light to 4 inches from the screen.
4. Add another bulb to the other side.
5. On your next cleaning, add another layer of screen, and rough up all sides of both layers with a hole saw:

ok perfect and thks so much for the quick answer,
the bulb of 2700k itŽs because the algae likes the yellow light or because the lower temperature bulbs worn slower, this bulb shouuld be replace after 3months either?

Im gona try to put a reflector and another bulb from the other side.

yesterday i put my bulb a little bit near to the screen like 4 or 3 inches.

the extra layer of screen should be placed over the actual screen sharing the same flow? or you mean with another flow pipe.
my actual layer was rough with a high grain sandpaper, but iŽll try the hole saw.

thks!

He means you mash the new layer of screen up against the turf you just cleaned so the turf grows through the new screen. NOT a second separate screen.

Hole saw: Sand paper does not gouge the plastic enough.

Algae likes warmer bulbs. Replace every 3 months.

Place the new screen on top the old one, like pancakes.
