This is day 14 of my new scrubber. I have a bald spot on one side, I'll have to play with it a bit. I think I have to screen too far up in the slot. Should I clean it yet?

I cleaned my screen last week. This week I still have a lot of brown slime but a few little tufts of GHA. Should I start on my weekly cleaning routine or let it go another week?

The brown film algae that was killing my coraline algae has all but disappeared. I just tested NO3(Salifert). It has gone from 25ppm down to 5-10ppm! Woo Hoo!

Santa, just want to thank you for the help. I've been fighting with these nitrates for quite some time. To see 5-10 ppm is great, can't wait til they are undetectable.

I cleaned the screen today for the second time. I got a lot more green coming in but still some browns and such.

Is this clean enough?

I just scraped it with a credit card, is there another technique?

No, with that dark growth I would scrape it so the screen is showing. Leave algae in the holes but clear it down to the screen.
