In what way does a scrubber help reduce bubble algae? Aren't all the spores contained within the bubble? When one pops, they spread. I have an incredible amount that hide in holes, under branching corals, etc. that just seem to multiply. I will manually remove as much as I can every week but there are an infinite amount.

The standard response would be - by reducing N & P to levels below survivable limits, however, I have doubts that this is even possible.

I had bubble algae in a tank and the scrubber out competed it.

I had it 8 years ago when I set up my tank. I must be lucky because it went away on its own, guess it either didn't like the tank conditions (toxins produced from soft corals etc) or it got eaten.
