My screen is 4"x6". Would this work in replacing my CFLs?

Probably. Also a red grow light would be better.

2700K LED is not going to work well. Kelvin ratings on LED do not parallel fluorescent. They are meant for architects and lighting designers for selection of like-for-like appearance to the human eye. Fluorescent sources use mercury-based light that is shifted with phosphors to achieve a particular color rendering. LEDs use elements to produce a specific wavelength of light. Algae prefer the red spectrum, so you want 660nm Deep Red LEDs. WW LED (2700K) will grow algae - just not very efficiently.

Thank you for the reply. Something like this?

yes I think I've seen Ace25 post that he is trying that one. It's low power LEDs, but there are so many and in such a tight array that those may work well for smaller screens. I still think that it would only be good for the area directly in front of the screen though - you just lose too much intensity when you go outside of the footprint of the lamp. So keep that in mind.

you want a little blue. I think this is the one Ace25 is trying

Thank you for your time! Think I'll give them a shot.
