New inexpensive red/blue LED screw-in bulbs?

Hi folks, I'm a long-time reader, first-time poster.

I'm moving my algae scrubber to run off my drain lines instead of return line. I want to go to LEDs on the new scrubber, and I found these e27 bulbs online:

They come with either 2 red and 1 blue (6w total) or 3 red and 2 blue (10w total) priced at $3-6 per bulb. I know the ratios aren't perfect, but I think I'm going to try 6 bulbs (3 each side) on a 10x5in. screen.

Anyone ever use cheap bulbs like this? Is there a downside to something like this that I'm missing? I figure they are cheap enough to justify taking a chance (free shipping, too).

Which bulbs should I use? I figure they will be mounted exactly 2in. from the screen if my build goes as planned.

I use cheap led bulbs like this only they contain 12-2watt leds they work well but not as well as "cree" led's

Welcome.

That bulb is probably going to be highly focused. Might be better to get the ones that have 100 smaller LEDs.

You can easily remove optics from these and have better spread. Just look that LED PCB is fixed to heatsink (glued or via screws)

It took a while to find the bulbs with 100s of LEDs that will run on 120V, but I did it. 30 Watts of LED on a single-sided screen should handle 2 cubes/day I figure. I'll go double-sided as my frag system expands. I figure the single-sided screen will be easier to access to clean for now.
