Maybe, but the 9002 does not really have a needle wheel on them to mod

Can you briefly explain what this mod does ?

Its hard to get at the adjusting knob on the tunze and its not easy to turn,by putting this valve on it you can have the adjusting knob anywhere you want it and its a lot easier to turn and it cuts down on the sound as well

I love my 2 tunze's... they are the only "equipment" on my reef pool.

That was hilarious! Only thing better would have been the music from Office Space when they were smashing the printer

Anyone else catch why that skimmer wasn't functioning properly in the video? The water level was way to high in the chamber it was in. Same thing would happen to a $1000 skimmer.

Trust me it was tried at lots of different heights.

Too bad the pump is epoxied to the bottom of the skimmer. Raising the skimmer up so only the bottom 2-3" is in water along with a stronger needle wheel pump would have made that work, but I am sure the cost to fix it would have probably been 2x what the skimmer cost anyway, so no point. I have made skimmers using a 2 liter bottle with the bottom cut off with a needle wheel pump inside and some type of cup to screw on to the top and they have worked as well as my $300 skimmer. It takes effort to make a crappy skimmer these days since they are such a basic concept, but leave it to China to do just that.

I have the very same one and it is working just fine . But I need stronger one. Much stronger.

Sorry, no pics or vids, made it many years ago and ended up giving it to someone else. It was just a larger 'MAME' skimmer like this video shows. Instead of the air pump/stone on a 12oz soda bottle I used a 2 liter with a needle wheel pump in the sump. I also made a collection cup for mine instead of just a tube going into a container like the smaller one in the video. Ended up costing me $30 to make, which was basically the price of the pump.

You dont use collecting cup? just using hose to collect the bubble?
