Hi

Can this type of bulb work for a scrubber,or do you really need the 660nm kind

I'm using around 625nm and I think I'm getting pretty good growth

650-660 will work.

Generally you want on either side of 660-670 within about 10nm. So Philips Luxeon ES Deep Red bin EX6 is 660-670 and EX7 is 670-680, EX6 is easier to find. I think EX5 is 650-660.

Those have been used, take the lenses off.

So i take it that i would just need some kind of heat sink and a waterproof box for it to go into
