multichip led question

What's the official verdict on 660nm multichip leds if I use a diffuser?
Just thinking of using 1 10w chip on each side of a 6"x8" waterfall

The only downside I see is that light intensity changes dramatically from center to edges even with difuser. Unless you have space for bigger distances screen to LEDs.

Thanks for getting back, I would have about 4 inch either side of the screen. Maybe enough to get 2 10w's on each side to stop the intensity fading off quite so much ???

I do not have practical experience with 10 watters but at 4 inch its worth trying I thing. Would not expect same light spread like with multiple sources though.

All that said I would not go that route myself. But as most things in our hobby this is experimental too .
