Rinse the cube?

When we say "cube" are we talking about a frozen cube just dropped into the tank? Or do we mean only what's left after carefully thawing and rinsing the frozen food? How big of a difference does it make?

No need to thaw and rinse; does no good. All the nutrients are in the food, not the water.

3 grammes approx of frozen stuff is one "cube" for sizing purposes. The phos concentration of the water surrounding the food is negligible, compaired to the food.
