hello to everyone
I live in the uk and have been following the forum for some months while also trying variations of the algae scrubber idea out on my 2ft cube reef with 20g sump ,ive finally settled on a 9" wide by 3" deep one sided screen that is directly fed from the main tank overflow ,the reason for this sizing is that I get a perfect even flow across the screen and it flows at the recommended gph per "
now my question is this - ive been using 2 times 14w cfl and this seems to work ok but with some yellowing ,I want to change to leds and cant quite figure out how many to use as when I look at santa,s upflow models they use 2 x 3w leds for 1 cube ,due to my screen being long and shallow I was thinking 4 x 3w 660nm red , does this sound about right ?

Welcome.

4 LEDs sounds good. Get the 120 degree ones, and put them about 15cm from the screen. If you could make it 2-sided instead, it would be even better.
