Good morning,
I am by no means a food specialist (unless it goes into my belly), but there is a great thread on coral food over at the MarineDepot.com site (http://forum.marinedepot.com/) The thread is under Eric Borneman - great read!
I have never had to dose Phyto, simply, 'cause I think my system produces enough. Now with the AS on board, my system seems to get all the diversity it needs. I do make my own food for fish and coral which is a mix of seafood (fish and shellfish) as well as vitamins and algae (bought at the local 'Natural food store').
Does this help?

It may seem your corals get all they need, until you realize that all of our tanks are basically starving when compared to reefs. We can feed our corals 100 times as much as we do now, and the they would not be "full". The limitation is really just how much Inorganic Nitrate and Inorganic Phosphate your scrubber can pull out.
