Surf2 progress

Hi from oz
So this is my current setup
4x2x2 tank with weir
4x2.5x2.5 sump
Reef octopus hurricane 800 skimmer
Reef angel controller
Chiller and 18w uv

I've just installed the surf2 on the 20.8.14
And this is my progress so far

Any advice would be appreciated

Looks like you are trying to clear up the algae on those rocks.

What are those balls in the middle chamber?

Yeah I've got a bit of gha in the display but the balls are marine pure similar to bioballs

Well run the scrubber lights for 22 hours; you'll need all the light you can get.

Yeah I have been running 22 for about 2 weeks and the surf took off, then I've been added more air as the algae gets stronger

How old are the rocks?

Old rocks so po3 would be leaching out of them, it will get worse before it gets better
(2 - 3 years)

When do you think I should clean it? 29 days so far without a clean.

Definitely now. I thought you already had.

Use a toothbrush at the sink and get all the dark stuff off the rocks and strings.

Well after a clean on Saturday the scrubber has really taken off
