Welcome from Brazil,

I would use red LED only. 3 watt.

Box is 25 cm long X 20 cm high?

25 X 20 cm = 500 square cm.

Each 75 square cm needs 6 total LED watts.

So you need about 40 watts of LED.

6 or 7 LED (three watt) on each side.

This is a very big ATS for a 50 gallon aquarium :)

also I believe the red spectrum LED should be 660nm, or "deep" red - correct?

Thank you santa monica.
Excuse my ignorance what is square in an ATS. What do you think of me by 6 leds 1 w on each side of my box ATS.

Square = the measurement of the area. 25 cm x 20 cm = 500 cm squared.

75 square cm is just the total area, length times width (1 cm x 1 cm = 1 square cm)

Yes 660nm = red.

6 LED of 1 watt, on each side, is only 12 watts total. Not enough for that large size.

However if you make the size 1/3 as big, it will be ok.
