Howdy,
Lov'n the S2 - harvests have been light; there are boatloads of 'pods' in there munching away most of the algae growing on the surface even though I'm fresh water spraying. It's still doing its job nevertheless.
I noticed today while servicing the unit some discoloration of the backing of the light. Thinking it was just salt I tried wiping it off with my finger only to wipe off a big flake of paint and exposing the HS metal.
I am concerned that the exposed metal (I believe it's Aluminium?) will corrode and or shorten the life of the unit. I also don't know the reactivity or long term effects of salt water on Aluminum or it's effect on the tank.
Should I RMA the lighting unit? Attempt to reapply paint? Let it ride?
