Greetings ! I'm Rendy from Indonesia and I’m already studying the algae scrubber in this forum for a few months.

First, allow me to share my experience in made my First UAS scrubber (hopes I’m not in the wrong room )

UAS Start on 17 August 2015 with :

- 7 x 3w RED LED 660nm, On 18hours/day
- media Rough plastic canvas 7 cm x 12 cm
- air pump 4.5 L/min
- Harvest every week with toothbrush
- parameter serra NO3 > 100mg/l, PO4 10mg/l

6271 6272

19 Sept [1st Harvest]

6273 6274

27 Sept [second harvest]
6275

Last Parameter

> 100mg/l (still) (serra)
6276

P04 0.1mg/l (serra)
6277

Could you guys give me advice why my no3 is still high, and what is wrong with my diy uas?
Really need your help here. :)

thank you

Welcome from Indonesia,

You probably have a lot of nutrients in your rocks. Or you have a very big aquarium. Your scrubber is working well, removing a lot of nutrients, but you probably need another scrubber. Can you add another one?

Hi SM,

thank you for reply, i'll try to add another scrubber.
but i still confused, could i use existing specification and divide it for 2 scrubbers or i just add another one with the same exact specification like now?

i mean like this :

should i divide the existing specification for 2 scrubbers, so each scrubbers would be :
LED 4 x 3Watt RED
and using the same airpump for both scrubbers

or

i need to add the same exact spec that i have now, so i'll have
2 X 7 x 3 Watt
and
2 airpumps?

thank u

Since you have so many nutrients coming out, I would just add a second scrubber.
