hello im newbie here..
im very interested with ATS system..but im confuses about the width and the height for screen.
my tank water is about 29gallons. lit on one side screen, the size is twice. so i decide to make 10.5''x5.5''=57.75 square inches for 58 gallons. the width is 10.5'' so x35g/hr=367.5g/hr. it's right?
and i have a pump with power 369.84g/hr. my question is what size is suitable for my screen.
or can i use 8''x8'' for the screen? its the big screen are better? so i need 280g/hr for water flow..how i can control my pump to get 280g/hr? how if control by valve by see the water flow at bottom on the screen?

Would the water be flowing down the 5 or 10 inch side?

water flowing down at 10..

Then you need 10 X 35 = 350 gph. Use a ball valve.

lastly i decide to use 8x8 screen..lit on one side..it is enough for my tank? and one more how if the water flow is more than 35gph? :?: mm i want to post my pic but i dun know.. ask me..

1) I'd say you need a second light farther down the screen.
2) You need two layers of screen.
3) The screen needs to be V E R Y rough. Painful rough!
Clean setup you have there.

thanks kcrees
yup..i know..
1)this is temporary light before i found suitable light.
CFL 23watt.
2) two layer already..but 2 different layer..plastic canvas (RED) and another plastic net (GREEN)..
is it the layer must be the same one?
3) i try to rough it again..i must be painful

:D
That red material, I can safely say, will do nothing for the turf as regarding helping it stay rooted during cleanings. You really want two of those green layers.

Put the scrubber after the skimmer. Or just remove the skimmer.

Two bulbs will give you backup. Otherwise it will be about the same.

Dark brown and yellow algae start grow. i Think want to clean the screen. but have i need to clean twice a week?
SantaMonica
11-08-2009, 10:42 PM
Clean only once a week, not twice. Only clean twice a week if the algae is dark like oil.
kcress
11-09-2009, 01:24 AM
Hmm.. 6500K will work. Just not as well. Well enough? Possibly.
Naw, just clean once a week.
