Hey,
I was wondering what the thoughts were on a algae scrubber in a freshwater planted tank? I have a planted tank that is overrun with cyanobacteria (green slime) that I have been neglecting mainly cause I am 2-3 months into my first saltwater setup. I am considering setting one of these up but I wonder if it would strip out what the plants need to grow. What kind of algae typically grows on them? I would even consider setting one up on the saltwater tank since that is getting it's second run of cyanobacteria (red slime). I found this site after reading about the mega powerful nitrate and phosphate remover yesterday on myfishtank which stumbled on.
Thanks
