Help and possible idea for flow control

Just wondering if you get time to help Im new to this and have had recient good results with led on my display tank and would like to set up a scrubber I came across this unit if you could take the time to have a look at it

They also have other items that may do the job for the scrubber as they can manufacture and change current set ups to suit your needs. Do you think this would work? being led would we stil need 50w+ as they pump out more light per watt then normal? not to good on the tech side of things sorry......

Also can you point me in the right direction on the internal fiber optic style scrubbers Im interested in this.

if you had a twin screen you could use this for alternated flow. I use one on my main tank with good effect never had a problem with it been running for almost 3 years now non stop

First to remember is that LED scrubbers are still for experimenting only, since not one has worked properly yet. So if you want to experiment, and don't need results, try one.

...is too small and too low power. You need as many LED watts as you do flourescent watts, the the LEDs need to be spread out over a large area so they don't burn the algae (like a large CFL does if it's too close.)

There is no info on fiber optics; nobody has built one yet.

You can use a SCWD to alternate flow, but each outlet needs to be enough flow for each screen. To date, there have been no advantages to alternating flows, however. It just adds complexity, noise, and it reduces the water contact-time by 50 percent.

Thanks Santa Monica my experience with led is that u can get the exact wave length of light and that you dont need as many watts for output eg I just bought a 120w led for my dt it's output/par is the same as a 250w halide.
So what wavelenth and par should we be aiming for?
Another advantage of led is heat which there is less of and bulb age that can be up to 5 yrs maybe beyond? Cfl need to be changed every 3 months?

Yes these things are already known, but they are still very hard to DIY. A big problem is spreading the light out over the screen without having hot spots.

What could you use as a diffuser screen that would help breakup hot spots without spending alot of money and could be readily found?
