My power went out

My power went out and i was away. My algae scrubber has been sitting with no flow for about a day and a half. now i have power but dont know if i should clean the screen of the semi dry algae, or just crank it on again. what is the procedure for this.

PS the scrubber stinks a litte

IF everything looks dead then clean it. If it looks salvageable then run with it for a day.

Alternatively clean half of it off.
