you could def use them as a over tank luminaire the light is intense

Yes I know, I don't think they're that far off either, one company already have an industrial lighting product on the market.

Wow, cool.
Just when I thought LEDs' were state of the art. Grr.
But does not really seem practical for an ATS.
Looks like the early ones will be in the 400W range. Lowest may be 100W.

Plus, they really do not beat LEDs in efficiency.
They advertise 90 lumens/watt, which is on par with the best LEDs, but not really better.
And LEDs' allow you to specifically target regions of the spectrum, for even better efficiency.

They make god statements about longevity, but I did not see any detail.
