well i got both screens up and running and the tank was looking very good ,
came home a week ago to find the tank had cracked and there was hundred gallon of water all over the floor , any way managed to save most of the live stock . lost a nice yellow tang ,sailfin blenny , purple file fish and some very nice corals . i also lost all the nice green algae id just grown , floor has had to come up and be re done iam on with all the building work .
the next tank will be 54in by 28in by 36in high its around 200 uk gallons and i will be running the filtration with two , look a like sm 100s , i can't get the nova light units over here in the UK so i will have to sauce another t5 set , think I've found one just a bit higher at 7 in .

Sorry to hear that.

Have you considered an acrylic tank?

Supposed to be a lot stronger than glass.

1 square inch per gal is fine. Spend more time on the strong consistant lighting from edge to edge.

If you are going to work on making it better, spend time on the lighting, preferably using T5HO very near the screen.
