I built a scrubber yesterday. It cost about $25 but I also had some parts laying around I used too.

I'm using a Rio 1100 at the moment. It's a little too much flow ATM. Bulbs are 23W PC floods.

Nitrates at 20ppm
Phosphates at 0. I use RODI.

Nice simple low-cost build. Should work good. If you need higher filtering later, just clip on two more lights.
