with maybe a few better ideas
so iam building a fish house to house my stock
what i wont to do is run 3 tanks verticaly one on top of the other with space between to get my hands in to net the fish and critters,
i would like to drill the tanks so i can grav feed the algae scrubber all the scrubber will be housed in the cabinet under the coral low bay tank ,
heres my idea

so the water has to run from the 3 tanks above the coral tank so the water has to run from the 3 tanks
into the cabinet under the coral tank then get returned is a three foot tank here into the cabinet under the coral tank then
to all three tanks i will house my cuc and shrimps then returned to all three tanks
i would like to run a little copper though these tanks copper also in this system
because the fish come in on in port.

74 uk gallons in each fish by hight of last tank will be 6ft 6 not sure on gallons yet on 3foot tank and coral bay
return pump i think i would need 9000 lt hr
screens lite by t5s
the only problem i can see is the bottom tank been so low it will be about 6in of the floor
anyone got any thoughts ?

Go to the first post on this thread.
Click on "quote" box on upper right.
When you do that, the spacing for the ascii-drawing works out, and it makes more sense.

For some reason, this site wipes out spaces in posts.
But when you quote, it looks like those spaces come back.


My response:
Put that ATS on the very top, one for each vertical set.
ATS -> tank1 -> tank2 -> tank3 -> pump back up to ATS.
With a strong pump for that much head.
And make sure there is a LOT of flow through, or only the top tank gets clean water.
An ATS for each tank would be better.

Ok that's the Quote In Reply button.

I see the layout, but I don't understand the problem. Simply a matter of gallons to filter. And if you are breeding, then you want 2X or 3X the power.
