I'm new to the whole idea of an algae scrubber but I want to try one on my 75gal reef. I'm planning on using a ten gallon tank to house the scrubber and sit it on top of my sump. The plan is to drill a drain hole in the ten and plumb it to my fuge to catch the pods. Now what I need help with is, how should I do the screen? I was thinking of having it angled top to bottom, but would it be better to have it completely vertical(space is limited and the tank is in my livingroom so it has to fit under the stand). I do have a pump to supply flow it's a little over 300gph and I was going to use cfl flood lights. Any advise is welcome.

Thanks,
Will

That's way more space than you need. Check the faq for details... viewtopic.php?f=9&t=68 (http://www.algaescrubber.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=68)

I have looked it over a few times, I guess I was confused cause I'm wanting to set the screen at an angle so wouldn't that be horizontal and if it is wouldn't I need 4 sq in. per gallon. Sorry I might just be overcomplicating it cause it's all new to me.

Thanks,
Will

Keep it vertical unless you have a very very good reason not to.
