Hello all,

Did some quick searches and couldn't find an answer, but forgive me because I'm sure this has been covered.

Starting an ATS design and I see that the commonly used "plastic canvas" material is available in different "counts" signifying the number of holes per inch - i.e. the gauge of the mesh. What is the best count to get? I see values from 5 to 14. Also, I see some described as "ultra soft" or "ultra stiff" - I'm guessing the stiffer material is generally better?

7 to 10 is fine. Stiff will rough up better without ripping.

Thanks for the info, will order 7 count "ultra stiff."

Am I right in understanding that it's still in vogue to use two sheets back to back? I see that was in the "original" bucket design, but since then it seems like other designs (including the SM100) use only one sheet, if I'm remembering correctly. If it matters, this is for a pair of scrubbers on a large tank - probably in the 150 - 200 square inch range each.

A single layer is best for most people; needs less flow, less cleaning.
