splash shield

What are you guys using for a splash shield? And what do you use to attach it?
I was considering puting like a 2" pipe over my 3/4" top pipe. Just wonderin g what else was out there I may not have thought of.
Every once ina while the algae grows up just right and it starts spraying everywhere. popped my breaker last night and the tankw as without power until I woke up and found it that way.
