Hi,

I'm putting together a scrubber and am trying to find a suitable light.
I found this LED flood light on ebay. Is it suitable?
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/10watt-LED-Flood-Light-outdoor-Light-Warm-White-700lm-/150507513122?pt=AU_Home_Outdoor_Lighting&hash=item230af26522
It is low K value and emits 700lm. how does this compare with flouro outputs? I'm keen to try a flood light because it is IP65 and I don't have to worry about water spraying on them if something leaks. LED's don't have to be replaced periodically as well which is a cost saving.

My scrubber specs are 311cm2 (300 x 100mm or 12 inches x 4 inches).
Flow rate 2500l/h (650Gallon/H)
Flouro wattage recommended 25 - 50W. Would 2 of these flood lights be equivalent?

cheers,
Martin

Can't say for sure with LED's. But I'd use at least 2 of them.

I've read some other builds. It doesn't sound like they do that well.

I think I'll go with flouros instead. I can use them to light up the scrubber and the refugium below the scrubber with the right reflectors

Does not look very good to me.
700 lm for $38 is not a good deal.
700 lm for 10 watts is not good efficiency.

And pure warm white, with no reds, is probably not going to grow all that well.
