Do i have to use grow lux bulbs, bulbs that make plants grow? or does a normal bulb work?

Best are 2700 or 3000k regular bulbs.

thanks so much . I am in the west indies and the only way we term bulbs is by watts, i dont understand the term 3000k. anyway thanks for this web site ,i am hooked and i have already sent a friend of mine a link to this very informative site.

Look for "warm" or "soft" bulbs.

Thanks santa monica, I am going to build me my first scrub. I have a 133 gal tank with discus and i am planning to use it to always grow out juvies. thanks again !
