Hello,

I am still looking to add an angle turf scrubber on my 28 gallon bow style tank. Seems like every time I try to design one it will not work as I do not have a lot of room on top of my tank with the Nova 24" light I have on top of it. I definitely need something as the algae is really bad in the tank and has killed all my coral. Please let me know how to go about designing a system for this tank or what a turf scrubber would cost as I am losing the battle and my patience with this green hair algae.

Thanks,

G. Gilbert :x

The 25 won't be available for a while.

The 100 would work, and you could set it above your tank, but it's more money.

Other than that, you could build an acrylic box to fit your space above, or add a sump with a simple diy below.

How would I go about building one for my tank with and without a sump. At this time I do not have a sump on my systems. I am using a Rena Filstar XP1 filter on my tank at the moment but I need to do something immediately. What would the 100 gallon cost?

Thanks,

Glenn

Hi Santa Monica,

I found in my garage a Top Fin octagon style Nano tank with the measurements of 8.5 L x 8" x 13" H which uses a 120 volt 50 Hz halogen bulb. Could I possibly make this tank work for my 28 gallon aquarium. The light sits on top of the tank. If this will work, what else would I need to purchase?

Thanks.

The info for the 100 is here: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=502 (http://www.algaescrubber.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=502)

And here are DIY placement options:

Thanks for the information. To make sure I have all the information I need before I get started.

Since I found a way to put the scrubber above my tank and to the side of it, I figure I would need the following to build it.

(1) At least a 6 x6 screen hung horizontal.
(2) A 15 watt CFL bulb, one on each side of the screen.
(3) A pump that handles at least 210 gph.

Please let me know if I am correct.

Thanks,

Glenn

I think you mean hung vertical. Otherwise ok.
