Eclipse System 12 - would this work?

Hello, I'm new here, and very interested in getting this ATS going.
- Plastic Canvas
- Sylvania 3000K
- Freshwater tank with guppies.
It's been 24 hours, and nothing show yet. :)
Do you think it's ginna work with my mod?

should the screen be submersed? completely?

The water needs to cascade all the way down the screen. I would not use a screen that had holes thru it as you'd never get the water all the way down the screen. :shock:

Otherwise it looks okay. I would be concerned with that bulb overheating and failing soon though. You need some ventilation or the electronics in that CFL will, absolutely, soon fail .

I thought about heating problem too, but the box is just a temp solution.

Looks like a good start. You could put a solid piece of plastic below the canvas, so the water stays flowing across it. Basically, when the water flow is turned off, the screen should be dry.

Ok looks good. Now get some rough sandpaper (or a file) and really rough up the canvas. Put it in, and report back in one week :)

Yep agreed, and your bulb should be ok now too.

Hello, I just wanted to report back that it did work.
But I'm going to leave the Eclipse 12 the way it is; stock.
Now that i know it works, I can start on my 90gal I'm putting in.
Thank you for all your help and research in this awesome system.

I know I'll come back with questions when i do the 90 gal for sure. :)
