dark grean powder algae

please what makes the algae turns to brown????

my algae is loosing it's colour it seems like it is dying >> some of the algae is green and the other algae is grey (( it loosed it's green colour))
do i have to change the bulb
my bulb is almost 3 month old

Yes an old bulb will cause the green to stop.

Green should start again this week.

there is growth but it is not thick and it is not fast as before

is it good or bad to make the flow stop every day for a period of time to make the algae breath?

and how long should i do ?

my nitrates is still 50 pp
should i increase feeding or cut it to half and does cutting to half affect the algae growth??
