Waterfall algae scrubber
Hi Santa Monica how are ya doing? I hope everything is ok with you all.
Can you help me?
I built a waterfall algae scrubber and i placed it above the tank but i am having problem with micro bubble inside the tank, there are something i can do to solve this problem?
Thanks a lot for sharing your knowledge.
Take care.

Doing good, thanks. Best way to reduce bubbles is make sure screen touches the water below, so the water does not fall.
Another way is to put a sheet of clear plastic sandwich wrap (Saran Wrap) over the waterfall pipe, so the plastic goes down both sides of the screen and down into the water. This will also stop all sideways spraying.
And of course you can reduce flow.

Hi thanks a lot for your help. I put a Sheet of clear plastic wrap as you suggested, and the bobbles reduced a lot. Thanks
Now please can you help me with others things.
First: my new scrubber has no growth at all after a 3 weeks running the tank.
It is a very new tank with a very new screen. I put some black plastic in front of the lamps to reduce a little the amount of light reaching the screen. ( I did so following a post that a read here in your site) is it correct. 4 days running with the plastic covering the light.
Second: think my tank goes a bacteria bloom, does that harm the scrubber? It is possible to solve this problem in a tank running only with a scrubber filtering the water?
Thanks a lot again for your help.

Blooms does not hurt, no.
Yes a scrubber-only tanks can solve the problems.
Try using light on only 1 side of the screen. Also here is info in new tanks:

Hi how are ya?
There is one thing that i noticed now, i have some brown algae im my rocks and cyano, and this algae was decreasing but after screen cleaning they start to increase again, and after 3 days running the scrubber the algae starts going down again. Is it normal?
